Picket Fences

Picket Fences Quiltbc

This is my Picket Fences quilt. I made it years ago and its one of my very favorite quilts. It is usually on my couch or my son drags it into his bed, or I do, its the perfect throw size for cuddling up in. In my family it has been well loved and washed a million times and just seems to get better and better. I have been asked for the pattern a lot lately because of pics I had posted on my Instagram, so I decided to share it as a Free Pattern. It is great for using up lots of scraps and I really think you could make it with the background in any color. Click the link below for the pattern and make one for you family to love.

Cheese

cheese

This is one of my very favorite quilts that I have ever made and just happens to be one of the easiest and quickest to finish. I even did the machine quilting myself on my regular Pfaff machine. It was featured years ago in the Better Homes & Gardens magazine Quilts and More but since it is now retired from that, I have decided to add it to our Free patterns. It is a great go to quilt when you have a beautiful collection of fabrics that hold their own and you don’t want to chop them up to much. Or if you just want to showcase some favorite prints together. This quilt is a combo of designs I loved from 3 of my favorite fabric companies, Adornit, Riley Blake & Alexander Henry. I hope you enjoy the pattern and make one or a few. I’m planning on starting one with the Everyday Eden Fabrics combined with some other faves from my stash. We also have a tutorial to help with achieving perfect points  on your triangles.

Enjoy!

Barbara: A Doxie Stuffie

babs1.jpg

This is Barbara or Babs for short, isn’t she adorable!? She is inspired by our friend Sascha’s tiny BFF Barbara. We received a new fabulous cotton canvas fabric from Alexander Henry and thought, wouldn’t this make a great stuffie!? And than we thought, we HAVE to make Barbara! So here she is and we are sharing the pattern for FREE! She is fairly simple to make, you just need to know some basic sewing skills. The pattern can be downloaded in a PDF through the link below. Click this link right here if you would like to purchase the adorable fabric we used, we think it really makes her extra amazing! We added the ability to purchase 2/3 of a yard, which is the exact amount you need to make babs, or you can order in 1/2 yard quantities like usual.

Here is the pattern, enjoy!

Barbara is about 23″ long and 12″ high when finished.

Simple Wool Infinity Scarf

infinitywoolscarf

This scarf is a favorite of mine to make for myself and makes a wonderful holiday gift. The best part is it is soooo simple, you can whip out a whole batch of them in no time at all! It can be made with any fabric, but I think it looks best in classic wool fabrics. Our pattern assumes that your fabric is about 60″ wide, so you will just need to piece it, if you want to use something that is 45″ wide. Besides your fabric, you will need basic sewing skills, a sewing machine & thread to match.

We just received a couple of fantastic wool suiting fabrics that are just perfect for this, they are listed by 1/3 yard increments, so that you can easily order to make this scarf as you need 1/3 yard of a 58″ -60″ wide fabric to make each one. Click Here to if you would like to order some from us.

The pattern is in a PDF that can be downloaded by clicking the link below:

Clover Mini Iron

iron

We have been waiting & waiting for this New little wedge Iron from Clover and are SO happy its finally here! They had an earlier version years ago, that we LOVED and it was discontinued, and it was impossible to find a replacement that we liked as much.  But finally they came out with this new version, that is lighter, easier to hold, has a pointier tip, and gets hotter on the high setting. We use this iron for our Machine Applique method, which requires a tiny pointy iron point, but I also love to keep it handy on a mini press board right next to my machine.  This is a new gadget that you will use & use! It is one of our favorite new tools!!
