This adorable little hat is here just in time for Easter! Any beginner can knit this, it is super easy. The pattern is sized for a newborn up to 1 year old. A very pretty addition to your little ladies Sunday outfit. Any Aran weight yarn will do, we used Karabella Aurora 8. To print the free pattern, click on the link below. Enjoy!
That is so adorable! You did a great job!
That is just the sweetest baby bonnet I have seen. Will be starting it today! Thank you for sharing it!
Marie
I would like to add this site available to be sent to my daughter. Thank you
I would like to adapt this adorable bonnet for a toddler of 2-3 years old. Can you help me with that? Thanks.
Hi Edna! I’m with you, don’t know how to though, did you get any responses to adjusting the pattern for a 2-3 year old???? it is such a wonderful little hat!
Were directions for a larger hat ever given! I too, have a 3 year old granddaughter?
Yes, so would I since I’m a novice knitter.
I would also like to adapt this adorable hat for size 3/4. Can you help! Love your site! Gail
I could not see the pattern for the Ribbon Baby Bonnet. Could yu help me? Thanks. Kate
I could not find the pattern either and would love to make for my granddaughter. Can you send the firect link? or send as a Word document? Thanks
I am trying to find a copy that is in word or anything other than a PDF. As soon as I do, I will email one to you.
Thank You!
Where do I find the Pattern for this Baby Hat?
hat is adorable
Is this knit in the round or flat?
In the round.
To open the pattern just click on the red words, “Ribbon Baby Bonnet” below the picture and the pattern will open up. The easiest way to make it bigger, in my opinion, is to use thicker yarn and larger size needles. Then just follow the pattern as is.
I’m so glad knitting is vogue again! Wish this pattern would have been available when my daughter was young. Will make for her kids! Thank you for sharing
Just to say thank you for sharing all the free patterns. I get so happy when I finish a cap or scarf. I now have 5-6 hats for chemo patients. The simple bib has been easy on my 70 yr. fingers. Thank you again!
Tried to download pattern and got the message ”
adobe Reader blocked for this site.” Help – how can I get a copy of the pattern.
First attempt at knitting 🙂
For the first time in a very long time I feel like knitting again, and it’s all due to your web site. Thank you! My granddaughter is expecting a baby girl in Feb. and I want to make her some hats and booties . I am hoping to find directions for the ones I have found that you have posted here. Thank you so much!
Fun, easy, and super cute pattern! Only suggestion is between
“Continue in this fashion until you are working knit 1, ssk.”
and
“Finishing.”
Do this: Once you get down to 16 stitches on the crown, then SSK until you get to 8 stitches
~~~
It makes a much nicer closure on the top- not quite so many stitches to crank down and not leave a hole.
I made it in Karabella Aurora 8 colorway #4 and it’s gorgeous! http://www.karabellayarns.com/swatchImage.aspx?sn=4&swatch=dcd64d09-a174-4fbd-8078-38552078813d.jpg
