Just In! Sew Cherry

Yay! Our local favorite Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnet has designed her first collection of fabrics. Of course we had to get them! They are so classic and sweet, we are in love! The collection is called Sew Cherry and I am still working like mad to get all of it out on the floor and on the website. Lori has a collection of adorable patterns that go with the fabrics that we will be getting in the next few weeks. She sent me some sneak peak pictures that I cannot show you yet, but I know you will go nuts for them. Love it!

It is a busy next few weeks around here, so stay tuned! There is lots to share!

Tomorrow is our weekly Wednesday Demo at 2:00 at the shop. It is free and super informative! We are going to take advantage of the good weather that is predicted for tomorrow and show you our fast and easy technique for basting a quilt for quilting. It is one of our top ten tips!! Don’t miss it!

Favorite Fabric Friday: Spring Street

This is my very favorite fabric right now! I want to hop on the little red bike and enjoy the day. This is one of the fabrics from Spring Street a lovely collection that is in the shop. I went to bed last night and was not sure what to do with it and woke up this morning with the quilt all set in my head, I can’t wait to start working on it this weekend.

Aunt Millies Block #2

We have just wrapped up Aunt Millie’s Block #2 at the shop.  The kits are here and online if you need one. The next classes will be Friday March 4th & Saturday the 5th from 3:00-5:00. You are welcome to join this block of the month at anytime, so if you have missed what we have done so far, don’t be scared to sign up!

Another free Wednesday Demo!!! This one is a good on too!! Cutting Bias Binding and mastering mitered corners will both be covered Wednesday at 2:00 and it is free! This in one of the top questions we are asked at the shop, so don’t miss!!!

There is also a little bit of room in the Beginning Quilting class starting this Wednesday at 5:30. This is a 4 week class and it is excellent! You will learn a ton! Call for more details: 801-484-5890.

Friday Favorite Fabric: Wild Thyme

I have used these two fabrics in about 6 quilts now. They are the best! We are on about our 5th bolt of each at the shop. I don’t know what it is about them, but they are great basics, without being so basic. Both are from the collection Wild Thyme. I like that the flowers are a little bit mod looking so the print works in places that a floral maybe would not. Anyway, I love them! and though I would share.

I know I am a little early on the Friday, being that it is Thursday, but I am going to try and take the day off tomorrow. Hopefully I can start the New Year out by getting some things done around home. Enjoy your weekend and Happy New Year to all. I hope 2011 brings some happiness to all of you! XOXO

Angela’s Quilt

This is a fabulous new quilt we have hanging in the shop. The maker and designer, Angela, made this as a first attempt at an Applique quilt. So if you are scared to do applique, don’t be! With a little determination you too could make something as wonderful as this! The designs are from a well known artist, Charley Harper. We have patterns for the quilt plus you must purchase the Charley Harper coloring book to get the applique images. Click here to buy a set of both to make this quilt.

Tiny Treasure: Doves

Check out these chubby little doves that Jeanette made! They are so sweet all in a row. These tiny treasures are speedy and simple to make if you know how to needle felt. If you would like to learn, you are in luck! We have a class on Friday, February 26th from 3:00-5:00. You come this one time and leave with you own teeny item of your choice completed. Sweet Life Purses

Sweet Life is a line of handbags, knitting bags and organizers put out by Amy Butler with  her original fabrics(the fabrics used in the bags are not available in fabric collections). We are carrying the full line of them at the shop and just received the latest batch. I MUST HAVE all of these bags, they are so adorable. Plus each one has massive amounts of seperated pockets inside so that you can keep all of your crazy purse clutter super organized. LOVE THEM!!!
