On My Table

So, as I said before, we are very busy trying to get all new displays up for the new year. It is a lot of fun becasye I am getting to work a lot on quilting, but also a little daunting. My work room is a mess. Here is one of my tables, to give you a sneak peak at a simple quilt that I am working on with the Spellbound collection from Art Gallery. I love the vibrant colors!

Holiday Class Schedule

We have a new class schedule that covers this week through the holidays, the link is below. It is a little smaller than most schedules, because we know that there will be lots of family and festivities that everyone will be enjoying. It has some of our classic favorites, as well as a few new holiday gift ideas. Above is a wonderful new headband (*Hip Holiday Headband) that we are offering a class on. It is so simple to make, and makes a fabulous hand made present.

Heads up for the binding class that is offered this Thursday. I know it is short notice, but is was the only way that we could squeeze it in. We have been asked by many to offer this class, which has not been on our schedule for a little while. Jeanette does the most beautiful bindings around, and she is the teacher, so don’t miss out!

Hands off the Minky!

Ladybug Minky
I can’t keep stop petting this new Minky. The ladybugs are too adorable. Plus, call me crazy, but I swear that this Minky is softer than any of the others!

Kiwi from Timeless Treasures

Kiwi Collection

The fabric is flowing into the shop like crazy. There are a lot of fabulous new prints but I especially love this collection called Kiwi from Timeless Treasures. Usually I would not pick lime as one of my favorite colors, but these fabrics change my mind! If you are Lecien lover, get excited! We have over 100 bolts of the amazing Japanese fabrics coming in on Friday.

Sample Sale:

We are changing up some displays and doing a little bit of purging. Upstairs at the shop we have a sample sale going on with a lot of beautiful retired store samples and displays, all for sale at great prices. Come check them out!!

Peacock Scarf Pattern

Peacock Scarf

I brought out this scarf today to keep warm in the newly frigid temperatures around here. I forgot how much I like it! So I thought I would share the pattern with you. I actually made a few of these last year, and no matter what color or yarn I chose, I was really pleased with the result. The pattern looks more complicated then it is, and knits up really quickly. I held together a basic Aran weight wool blend and a fine angora that changed colors slightly to make the scarf shown here. But I also made a few of them with only the wool blend, both turned out wonderfully. I also like my scarves really long, so you may not need as much yarn as the pattern calls for. Have fun!

Fab Fall Acessory #3

Shannons Hat

Shannons Hat 2

Make your own fabulous wool felt hat for fall! This adorbale hat is one of our latest patterns at the shop. This is the beautiful Shannon modeling the hat that is named for her.

The Latest & Greatest from Busy Bee

Victory Garden

Bistro Betty

Busy Bee Quilt Designs is one of my very favorite pattern companies, everything that they do is simple & chic. The two patterns above have just surfaced at the shop, and I can’t wait to make both of them . Victory Garden is a twin size quilt with a wonderful retro British feel and Bistro Betty is a great new take on the aprons that everyone is making like crazy. Hip Baby is a pattern by the same designer that I have made many times. It always looks wonderful no matter what fabrics you choose, and is truly quick and easy.

Stella Apron

Stella Apron

Another adorable apron to add to your collection! We used some Anna Griffin fabric to make our version of the Stella Apron by Grand Revival. The pattern includes a half apron variation as well as a few pocket choices for the full apron.  My goal this year is to become semi-proficient in the kitchen. Like all of my endeavors, I feel as though if only I get my hands on the right tools, the excellence will follow. This apron is definitely one of the right tools!
With the apron pattern we recieved the two amazing bag patterns shown below, the Practical Bag and the Ava Bag . Thanks goodness it is Friday and I can get going on some of these projects over the weekend.

I cannot believe it has already been one year since she arrived! Happy Birthday Piper!!!

This adorable photo was taken by her dad.

Girly Girl

Girly Girl

I am practically drooling on this fabric as I cut it into fat quarters. It is the latest from Art Gallery and is appropriately named “Girly Girl”. I think it is perfect for any young lady who loves pink!
