Latest & Greatest: Big Boy in a Bib

I can’t believe my little guy is so big, he is trying to feed himself! Thank goodness he cannot get out of his Aiden & Ava Bib, it is a lifesaver in the laundry department. His grandma made him the little school bus version that he is sporting here.  I may need to make up the cars version shown below, as that is now one of his favorite words. The kits for these adorable reversible bibs were totally sold out a few days ago, but we have been busy as bees working on them and they are all back in stock!

Just To Brighten Your Day: Ski Boots!!

Growing up in Utah, we are all skiers around here. A few years ago we came up with a pattern called These Boots were made for skiing, because we couldn’t find any skiing themed patterns, and we wanted to make a quilt. The pattern has sold and sold, year after year. Holly Cullen & Joyce Kirsch sent me this photo yesterday of their version on our quilt. They made a few changes and made a KING size! It blew my socks off! Bravo ladies!! It is wonderful!
It is so wonderful to see our designs mixed with others creativity and talent! If you have made something fabulous with one of our patterns, please share it with us. It really makes our day.

Just To Brighten Your Day: Britt’s Animal Alphabet

Britt is a darling customer at the shop, and this is her quilt. The design is from the Animal Alphabetpattern. She made it for her first baby who was born this summer. Isn’t it wonderful?! She did a fantastic job! Britt had never done any applique before taking our Invisible Machine Applique Class. If you love applique, but are scared of it, don’t be! You too can do quilts as fabulous as this!!!

Video Tutorial : Modern Applecore

We have wanted to start a series of video tutorials on for blog for some time now. Unfortunately our sewing & knitting skills are a little more advanced than our technological ones.  But, we finally just decided to go for it! While our videos may not be technologically perfect, I think we have some great tips to share with you, and hopefully that is what gets across. We have a lot of fabulous ideas for these tutorials, but if you have any suggestions , please share them with us. We would love to be able to get you the information you are wanting! So please, comment with some feedback.

Our first video tutorial is how to make our fantastic Modern Applecore with ease! We love this quilt! It is such a fresh addition to the decor of a room! We loves to use lots of different large modern floral fabrics, but really anything will work. Once you understand how to sew the curves, it goes together very quickly.  The quilt is easily made with fat quarters, and we all have a million of those right? We sell a pattern & template for this quilt as well as some other tools that make stitching it a little easier, they are all listed at the bottom of the post under Suggested Supplies.

Suggested Supplies:
Modern Applecore & Template
Roxanne’s Glue Baste It
Awl
Little Scissors
Fat Quarters , the amount depends on the size of quilt you would like to make.
