On The Docket: Lisa’s Flower Garden

I love tiny quilts! Especially small ones with lots of teensy details like 1″ patches and adorable flowers. So when I saw this quilt at market this year, I knew it was for me. I have only started a few blocks but I am having a ball. When I get a little more finished I will share a photo with you. It is called Lisa’s Flower Garden and is by Primitive Gatherings. I have not started any of the floral blocks yet, but I am thinking of using hand dyed wools. The whole quilt is 34″ X 42″! One of my very favorite quilts of all time is the one shown below from the Shelburne Museum Collection. Lisa’s quilt reminds me a little of it. Love it!!!! What do you think?

Favorite Fabric Friday: Downtown Dot

What is not to love about these mod dots? They are called Downtown Dots from our favorite fabric company Alexander Henry. They are a perfect basic with a lot of pop. I purchased a ton of both of these and I know they will show up in a lot of quilts in the future. The top one may also need to become another crib sheet, I am learning that you need a lot of them!

Etsy Favorite: Cotton Monster

I am so in love with this little guy, I am saving my pennies to buy it for Ronan(okay it is for me, but maybe he can borrow it every once in a while). If I was making soft toys, these would be tho ones I would aspire to.I love everything in Cotton Monster’s shop. They are all a little creepy, but oh so fabulous!  I am doing my best to buy as many baby things from Etsy as I can, to support all of the people making great stuff by hand. I hop you are all doing the same. I would rather Ronan have a little less, but all great toys!

I am lucky because… I am falling behind.

This is my sewing table, with only a small portion of my neglected sewing projects.  I am struggling with keeping up with all of my jobs such as sewing, blogging and such while performing my new job as a mom. I was feeling a little down on myself today and thinking about how I am not getting anything done. Than I realized how lucky I am to be a bit behind. I am getting to spend tons of time with the most precious new friend I could have imagined. So actually, I am getting a lot of very important items done, just different than what I was accomplishing before. With that said, I am still missing my projects terribly. I am determined to get back on track right away. There are some really cute new fabrics at the shop that I am dying to cut into, so you will be seeing much more of me and what is going on at Pipers right away!
