I am so in love with this quilt!! I picked the fabrics and Jeanette and I made designed and made the it together. These giant sized apple cores are so much easier to put together than the traditional size. Plus Jeanette has come up with a foo proof method that even a beginner can handle: no pins! The pattern is a Piper’s original and comes with a template made from the same plastic as our rulers, fat quarters are the best for your fabrics. The patterns will be in the shop early next week. Favorite Fabric Friday: Farmdale Blossom
Words cannot describe how much I love this fabric. I know I will use it in quilt after quilt! This beautiful blossom reminds me of many of the Japanese florals we stock, yet it is from Alexander Henry. It is called Farmdale Blossom and I just love it!
Best Book: Dare to be Square
Dare to be Square Quilting is a fantastic new book from Boo Davis (love her name!). The instructions in the book are geared towards a raw beginner so they are super easy to follow. There are 10 unique quilt patterns along with a bunch of fun accessories for home, bags, and softies. I love the modern feel of the quilt below and the simplicity of the colors. It reminds me a little of the Gee’s Bend quilts.
I truly want to make everything in this book. I am looking for lots of boy quilts as of lately. I am pretty sure most little guys would go nuts for the robot quilt in this book. Seriously such a great and inspirational book!
Just In! Cherry Tweet
Just in time for Valentines, this quilt embodies the holiday with it’s colors and design. The quilt is called Cherry Tweet and the pattern is by a local designer. We love to support local and we love applique! I love the sweet vintage feel of this design!
