Friday Favorite Fabric: Wild Thyme

I have used these two fabrics in about 6 quilts now. They are the best! We are on about our 5th bolt of each at the shop. I don’t know what it is about them, but they are great basics, without being so basic. Both are from the collection Wild Thyme. I like that the flowers are a little bit mod looking so the print works in places that a floral maybe would not. Anyway, I love them! and though I would share.

I know I am a little early on the Friday, being that it is Thursday, but I am going to try and take the day off tomorrow. Hopefully I can start the New Year out by getting some things done around home. Enjoy your weekend and Happy New Year to all. I hope 2011 brings some happiness to all of you! XOXO

Seasons Greetings!

All of us at Piper’s want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The shop will be open, but this Piper girl is going to take some time off, so I may not see you again until 2011. We are working like busy bees on our new website !!! We just love it and hope you will too! There is only a tiny bit of what we offer in the shop, right now, but by the New Year we should have oodles of goodies that you can have shipped right to your door. Stay warm and enjoy some time with friends and loved ones!

Sneak Peak: Modern Applecore

This is just a little peak at one of the new quilts that will be up after the New Year. This is our take on the traditional  Applecore. The size is giant, which makes your quilt easier to put together and super quick to complete. We are teaching a class on this quilt on the new class schedule, if you would like to learn our tips. If you are far away, we will also be offering a pattern with the same secrets. I love the fabrics, but I guess I am a little biased because I picked them out.

Best Book: One More Skein

It is that time of year when you are trying to knit quick, and make something that you can give and the receiver will thoroughly enjoy. Anything hand made is truly appreciated, but many of the projects in this book will be sure to be favorites. I would truly love to make everything in this book. There are plenty of projects for everyone in your life, classic men’s scarves and such, beautiful accessories for the ladies and adorable baby and kids items. Besides everything being quick and beautiful, most everything will require only one skein of yarn. So you can dig into your closet of crazy left overs or spend very little and have Holiday gifts to check off your list. I am especially into cowls this year and love the one shown below from the book. Put it on your list, and check it twice. One More Skein!

Favorite Fabric Friday: Life

I have to have show at least two pics of this fabric, but really I could use about six of them in order for you to see how great it is! I absolutely love this fabric called” A Day In The Life” by Kaufman. It is chock full of everyday objects, and adorable sayings, depicting a life with little ones. Stuff like, ” No Throwing” and ” I Have to Go”. There are slippers, beds, a toothbrush, bottles, clothing, a kids potty and so much more. It is like a Wheres Waldo game to find all of this great stuff. This is by far my very favorite fabric right now. Love it!
