Betz White has just come out with a line of make new or make do sewing patterns. We are carrying all of these patterns but the two above are my very favorites. I am obsessed with owls lately, so I will have to make the little scissor case to add to my collection!

Best Book: Handmade Beginnings
This is the latest book by our favorite Ana Maria Horner. We carry of her fabrics for Freespirit. This book is an absolutely delightful collection of projects for a new baby, the mom and even some daddy accessories. I am determined to make the quilt below! I also think the booties would be a perfect addition to our window display of little shoes that we have in the shop. This book is a keeper!
P.S. Don’t try to do too many things at once. Thanks Kim for catching my Boo Boo.
Favorite Fabric Friday: Christmas In July
I have a confession to make, I don’t like Christmas fabrics. I know it is horrible! I think it may be that I am just not a fan of Red and green together. ???
But I am nuts for this new fabric from Alexander Henry called Yuletide ! Maybe the pink addition makes all the difference, I am not sure. All of the Christmas fabrics are starting to flow into the shop, they always start to show up in July, hence the Christmas in July.
Winner!!!! So the random winner of the laminated fabric from last week is Maggie! If you are Maggie, please shoot me an e-mail so I can get you your fabric!
Still Room!
There is still room in our needle felting class tomorrow! This class is usually filled to the brim. You can make fantastic flowers just like the ones above, most people leave class with it completed. The class is $48 and includes all of your supplies! Needle felting: Friday July 16th from 3:00-5:00. Call the shop to sign up at 801-484-5890.
Just In! New Amy Butler Jacket Patterns!
The latest patterns from Amy Butler are all fantastic jackets. You can make them in the new laminated fabrics for rainy days or with cotton fabrics for everyday. There is the adorable Rainy Days Jacket, which is shown above, plus a child’s version called Little Splashes. There is also the more sophisticated Sandlewood Jacket. They are all amazing! Plus if you need a little shade this summer, we received more of Amy’s Sun hat pattern.
I am Lucky Because…. I can still rope swing!
This is me this weekend! I was a little nervous the first time, but practically ran back for several more jumps. I have some rope burn, but it was totally worth it! A few of my friends and family went tubing on the Weber river, and smack dab in the middle of the river is this fantastic swing that some wonderful family has set up for everyone to enjoy. I was starting to feel a little old this summer and this swing was just what I needed to knock that idea out of my head. So I am daring you (actually double daring you), to try something this summer that you haven’t done since your were 16. I will be trying lots more!
