A little behind

Holly Stocking

I am falling a little behind this week on everything! We are cutting kits like crazy for a bunch of new shop displays. Today I am cutting wool Christmas stocking kits. It feels a little weird to be doing this in 90 degree weather. They will be in the shop in about a week and they are so very cool because they are entirely pre-cut for you! The stocking, the holly berries, and all. Plus the applique is all ready to go, with Heat N Bond Lite pre-applied to the shapes. There will be about four stockings in kits like this. So I guess it is worth falling behind!

Adorable A-Z

JENN SKI ALPHABET

I purchased these adorable Alphabet flash cards this weekend at Michaels, along with a bunch of matching scrapbook supplies. I usually like to frequent the smaller business’s like my favorite local shop, Paper Creations for these types of things. But I love the designer Jenn Ski, I have a bought a ton of her stuff off Etsy. Aren’t they adorable!! They have fun facts about each animal on the back of each 3X5 card, but are so cute that you want to frame them. The scrapbook papers, chipboards and stickers are just as cute. We have a ton of customers that come int he shop and say that they buy a ton of our fabric, but do not know how to make anything with it, and just like to look at it on their shelf. I am this way with scrapbooking supplies! I need some serious lessons, so I can make something with all of the wonderful supplies I have collected!

I got a bunch of new sneak peak photos of our new “Smocked Dresses” quilt that is in process currently. OOOOHHHH! It is going to be stunning! I will share more later. You can stop in the shop now and  already get some of these kits, but hurry because every time we put them out, we sell out immediately.  We are working very hard to try and keep up with the demand.

A Must Have!

I am trying to eat a bit better, but cannot survive without chocolate. I am sure that many can relate! Rarely does the healthier alternative ever taste anywhere near to even decent. But I found this brownie mixover the weekend and am blown away. So much so, it deserved a mention on the blog and I am running out to buy boxes! I guess if you eat the whole pan it can’t really be called healthy.

Goals This Week

Posy Time

#1. Finish the quilt above called Posy Time. I should be able to get it done as it looks super simple and will give me a reason to use my nifty clover Yo-Yo tool. We will have this quilt as a kit for shop hop which starts JUNE 17th, not July 17th as I incorrectly put in our ad in the Beeline this month. Big Ooooppps!

#2 Run 3 miles without stopping to gasp for air. Actually 3.8 miles, which is the distance around Liberty Park twice ( my local park, where I am attempting to run). I am not a runner(my body was not built for running! If anyone knows of a sports bra with steel plates imbedded in it please let me know where I can purchase said bra.), but in an effort to force myself to get into better shape and become a runner, I did something really stupid and signed up for a half marathon in July, which seems like way too soon to be running a half marathon when I cannot even run 3.8 miles. Also, now I cannot back out as I have announced it here on the blog for the world to see. So this week I will just concentrate on the 3.8 miles.
