Today is my birthday. My sister-in law made me this amazing quilt. It was such a surprise, I had no idea that she was making it. I just love it!!!! The color combinations are so great and just what I would have picked for myself. I think it is a Buggy Barn pattern but I am not sure which book that it came from. My favorite block is the one below.

She also put this wonderful label on the back which reminds me why labels are so wonderful and important. The label adds such a wonderful personal touch to the quilt. It also allows future generations to know the great stories that go along with quilts. I remember going to one of my very first quilt shows and absolutely falling in love with a grandmother’s flower garden quilt that was on display. Many of the quilts had storieas attatched about the women who had made them and this quilt just said: ” maker unknown”. For some reason it made me so very sad. So make sure to put labels on your quilt. If it is a gift it will mean the world to the receiver and it leaves the future a memory of you.
