Finally, sunshine!!! Isn’t it wonderful? All I want to make lately is colorful fresh projects. I have been way too busy and have not had enough time to do anything except to fall into bed at night. So, in order to keep creative ,I have had to find projects that REALLY are FAST & EASY. Eureka! Rug Needle Punch. I discovered Rug needle Punch at Spring Market which was in Salt Lake City last May. I made a new friend Barbara and she taught me Rug Punch in minutes, and let Jeanette & I buy a large portion of her (not supposed to be for sale )display of hand dyed rug yarns. We had to buy the yarns immediately, so we could rug punch that very night! These rug yarns are what we now carry at Piper’s and the colors are just georgous as you can see for yourself in my pics. So I started this rug last night, that will be my new doormat. All of what you see, was done during an episode of Project Runway(I missed the re-union show last week and thank goodness they had a re-run). I am determined to finish this rug by the weekend, and i actually think I can. I really want it for my new spring decor, but I am sure it will have to debut at Piper’s for a bit. You must learn to Rug Punch! It is so much fun!
I had to add this picture of a new pin cushion in the shop from Bird Brain Designs. It seems to match my rug a little and was equally quick to make.

Ruffles & Spring
What says spring more than this darling baby blue cardigan. The ruffles just make it, don’t you think!?
This is a Piper’s original pattern and will be available right away. Although the weather still dreary, you can feel spring coming in the air! I can’t wait.
With Spring comes the cleaning, and boy did we do some. We have cleaned out our mountains of scrap and have put it out on sale for you to enjoy. There are hefty bags for $2 each. Come while they last and get a bargain.
Boys In Blue
I don’t know about you , but I am always looking for projects to make with my leftover yarn. These pet scarfs are perfect! They took less than half of a 50 gram ball and about an hour each. I used chunky yarn and size 9 16″ circular needles but any leftover yarn will work. Cast on 40 – 70 stitches, depending on your dogs or cats neck size and your yarn and just knit a basic knit rib for about 4-6 “. Thats all!! My boys wanted to match, being best friends and all. I think I might knit one for my neighbors cat and just put it on next time he visits the back yard. He would come home looking fabulous! The neighbors would either love it, or think I am thoroughly crazy.
Enjoy your Monday off for those of you who have it, Happy Presidents Day!
